Kings County Criminal Courthouse Renovation – Brooklyn, NY

This project consists of the interior renovation of the Courthouse. Mr. Rueda served as the project executive for the project’s duration to substantial completion. The work has been phased and is being completed while the facility remains fully operational. The project calls for the renovation of approximately 264,000sf of this 11-story courthouse building constructed in 1934. Retaining the character of the original style was the project’s main objective. The Courthouse’s Arraignment courtrooms and the main lobby and public corridors are being renovated along with the central booking facility. The 12 floor renovation included total restacking and re-planning of all departmental spaces, new arrest-to-arraignment areas, new electrical, lighting, fire alarm, heating, cooling and plumbing systems. This project will achieve Silver LEED Certification.
