Resident Engineering Inspection Services for New Sanitary and Storm Sewers and Water Mains in the Fresh Creek Area, Borough of Brooklyn

JED Engineering has been retained to provide Construction Inspection services for this vital infrastructure project.  The project involves the High Level Sewer Separation in the 26th Ward District of Brooklyn. It will be built in order to reduce the CSO discharge to Fresh Creek Basin. The scope is to build and extend storm sewers as per the NYCDEP drainage plan, upgrade storm and sanitary sewers and replace unlined cast iron water mains to improve water distribution and fire protection.

The work includes the installation of 2,000 linear feet of 12 and 18 inch diameter ESVP  sewers, 1,000 linear feet of 24 inch diameter RCP storm  sewer,  1,100 linear feet of 12, 15 and 18 inch diameter ESVP, and 24 inch diameter combined sewers. Also included are approximately 2,800 linear feet of 5 feet by 2.5 feet and 4.5 feet by 2.5 feet concrete box storm sewers with one outfall, manhole, chambers and catch basins. New water mains of 8, 12 and 20 inch diameter DIP with appurtenances, hydrants and valves will be installed to upgrade the water quality and pressure in the area. The project includes the replacement of some sidewalks, curbs and roadways, street lighting and traffic signals is also included in this project.

Contract Cost: $ 56.6 million
