Construction of Various Right-Of-Way Green Infrastructure in the Bb-05 and Bb-08 CSO Tributary Areas, Borough of Queens

JED Engineering was retained as a sub consultant to provide Construction Management and Post-Construction services. As part of efforts to improve water quality in NYC, NYCDEP implemented a green infrastructure program in the BB-05 & BB-08 CSO tributary areas throughout North Queens; (Astoria, Jackson Heights, Elmhurst, East Elmhurst, Corona, and North Corona).

The project scope included but was not limited to the installation of 319 green infrastructures. A total of 128 bio swales, 184 infiltration basin and three (3) storm water green streets and four (4) raingardens.  The goal of this project is to manage storm water by reducing the amount combined sewer overflow that enters the local waterways, which will improve water quality in local waterways, and lessen street flooding.

As a sub consultant, JED provides on-site construction inspection for this project.  Inspector’s monitor’s construction related work activities in accordance with DDC and DEP specifications and maintain daily inspector reports.
