REI Services for East Side Coastal Resiliency (ESCR)
JED Engineering was retained as a sub consultant to provide Construction Management and Post-Construction for the east coastal Resiliency project. The capital project aims to upgrade the Resiliency of the Manhattan Island’s east side highway area to withstand major hurricane floods that might occur in future. Project includes but not limited to:
- Erecting a flood wall parallel to the costal line.
- Installation of a flood wall system that allows walls to be elevated upon water rise.
- Installation of flood multiple gates
- Remodeling the adjacent parks and adding playground and perms
Some of the daily duties include but are not limited to:
Sheet piles & steel piles installation, jet grouting, “RCP” sewer pipe installation, erection of steel walls, steel reinforcement, form work, rebar inspection, landscape development, parks design, irrigation systems development, roadway resurfacing, curbs, sidewalks, asphalt pavement.
Contract Cost: $1 billion
