Installation of Storm and Sanitary Sewers, Trunk and Distribution Water Mains in Coney Area, Phase 1, Borough of Brooklyn 

JED Engineering was retained to provide resident engineering inspection services for this important infrastructure project.  The project, located in the Coney Island section of Brooklyn, is renowned for its historical amusement park, boardwalk and beach. The project was initiated to alleviate the problem with flooding in the area.

The work included the installation of storm sewers, 3 feet by 2 feet, 6 feet by 2.5 feet,  7 feet by 4 feet  FTRC, 12 inch DIP  and 24 inch diameter RCP, chambers, two 10 inch diameter sanitary sewers, 8 inch, 16 inch, 24 inch and 36 inch diameter water mains with appurtenant hydrants and valves. The project also included the installation of an outfall into Coney Island Creek at Hart Place.

Contract Cost: $27.7M
